Sunday With Blackthorn - Today We Discuss The NORCO Bank Robbery Shootout of 1980

 Everyone remembers the 1997 North Hollywood Bank Robbery and massive shootout between the heavily armed robbers and the police which followed. That incident initiated a change in LEO Agency policies around the country in regards to having Shotguns replaced in Patrol vehicles with Rifles. Essentially the same as what happened after the 1986 FBI Miami Shootout that resulted in the move away from Revolvers to Semi-Auto handguns for Law Enforcement.

However the NORCO Bank Robbery seems to have been forgotten these days by most people. The NORCO Incident should have been a wake-up call to most LEO agencies, but somehow it just never happened.  I hope the linked article and Youtube video below will give you all an idea of just how brutal and bloody the NORCO Incident  actually was.
