Sunday With Blackthorn - Today We Discuss The Vanity, Insecurity And Need To Retain Power Of Politicians

Specifically in this case the politicians of NY State. Kathy Hochul, current interim Governor since Cuomo was forced to resign. She's looking to get elected for a full 4 year term this November, as well as all the Democratic members of the State Legislature in both the Assembly and the Senate.

I won't bore you too much and take too long. In a nutshell the mass shooting at Uvalde Texas and more directly, as far as NYS is concerned, at Buffalo have set off another desire to "do something". As usual, the same  ideas that have been proposed, put into place both in NY as well as other states have been trotted out and are now being prepared for the needed paperwork and attendant votes.

The link below lists the 10 new proposed laws that are going to, again and as usual, make our "streets safe again", be voted on and most likely pass since the Dems are the dominant party here, and they all want to look good in the press. Especially with elections coming up in 5 months, and considering that they are in a bit of a pissy mood due to their blatant partisan gerrymandering of the election districts this year having been called out, shot down and realigned by 3 separate State Court judges at three different levels of the State Court system.

Anyhow, It's interesting to know that 2 or 3 of the proposed laws have already been declared unconstitutional in other states that tried to enact similar legislation. Several more are just eye-wash  that accomplish  nothing, and one even mandates a firearms ID system that involves a technology that has been worked on for over 15 years now, and still doesn't work.

But hey, what can you expect from career politicians?
