Sunday With Blackthorn - Today We Discuss The Beretta 1301 Semi-Auto Shotgun

I'm not the greatest fan of Semi-Auto shotguns for Self Defense. As noted by the last shotgun Blog post I put up about The least Expensive (Cheapest) Semi-Auto  Shotgun In The World.

However....

If you are thinking about buying one, these days, you're two best options are from either Beretta or Benelli.  Which is pretty much the same thing   seeing as  Beretta owns Benelli, along with about 3 or 4 other shotgun companies. In any event, today we'll take a look at the Beretta 1301.

Enjoy!

This looks as if it nearly identical to the Beretta 390/391 which are virtually "bulletproof" semi-auto shotguns. Widely used in sporting shotgunning so you know that a lot of rounds have been run through these guns. Over the years, kinks have been worked out.

Takes a lot of abuse also with regard to cleaning. It will run for a long time without cleaning. Of course the best advice is to keep it clean especially if its for defensive purposes.

When it comes to Semi-Auto Shotguns, It's been my observation that Beretta's and Benelli's are the way to go. My only problem is that I can never remember if Beretta owns Benelli, or if it's the other way around.
