Real World Preparedness from The Swift, Silent, Deadly Blog

If you know anything about me from my blog, any forums I'm on, or actually personally, you know that I have a habit of harping on Un-Cool types of Preparedness.  Everybody buys their guns and ammo, cool knives, tactical load bearing gear, compasses, bug-out gear, ad nauseum, ad infinitum.

Everybody wants to be Mad Max after the apocalypse, or Daryll from the Walking Dead after the Zombies take over. The problem is that while those scenarios might, could, maybe happen, the probabilties are pretty low.

However, the recent pandemic, and the associated misfortunes such as lack of employment, no school for your kids, doctor and dentist offices closed, bank branches closed and no access to ATM's, being shut in mostly for months at a clip, etc., point out that real world disasters have a habit of not being solvable with your AR, your Glock, or your Shotgun. Even in the case of the recent violent demonstrations in the major cities, have you actually taken any even basic instruction in how to use your  firearms? Not too mention have you done any due diligence in the way of the legal use of force in the jurisdiction where you live?

In any event, the three following links will take you to three Preparedness Articles at the  Swift, Silent, Deadly Blog. The articles may not be sexy, they're definitely not cool, and you might even find them boring. But when the next Hurricane, Nor'Easter, Pandemic, or other High Probability disaster comes along, you may just find yourself being glad you took the time to read them.
