Well, it looks like Socialism is good for something. Crime is dropping because the banks and armored cars have no money, people have no cash in their wallets, the armed robbers can't afford gas for the motorcycles and mopeds they use and they can't afford to buy guns on the Black Market.
Oh yeah, and the kidnappings (usually the 3rd largest crime in most Central and South American countries) are down because as a result of the hyper-inflation, a $5,000 ransom requires almost 200lbs worth of bank notes.
