Basically,if you have a handgun license of any type in NYC (Carry, Premises, Home, whatever) you are not allowed to take the gun out of the city without prior permission from the NYPD. Almost impossible to get. The regulation was challenged in court, but the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the city.
