On Sheldon Silver and Getting what he Deserves
Convicted last year in Federal Court on charges of corruption, his conviction was overturned due to a decision by the SCOTUS in an unrelated case. So he won't be going to Club Fed any time soon, however in the brief article from the website NYPD Confidential by Leonard Levitt Copyright 2017 dated 7-17-2017, his woes are far from over;

LAMENTING SHELDON SILVER
For those lamenting the overturn of former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s corruption conviction, don’t despair. The feds of the Southern District will bleed him. They’ll try him again. And if they lose, probably again.
There is precedent for this. Back in the day, then U.S.Attorney for the Southern District Robert Morgenthau tried his longtime nemesis, Roy Cohn, three times. He lost all three times, but Cohn didn't exactly come out on top.
Even if the feds never convict Silver, his trials will cost him millions. And for Silver, isn’t money what it’s all about?
Which seems appropriate to me. Even if he remains free, he won't get to enjoy the fruits of his extracurricular political endeavors. Nor will he be able to regain his position in the N.Y. State Assembly.
