Final Decision Pertaining to Gravity Knives in NYS & NYC

After NYS repealed the "Gravity Knife" Ban, the city was forced to abide by that decision, but they (the City) stated that they intended to maintain enforcement against Gravity Knives on MTA property. ie: Subway stations, trains and buses. Knife Rights.org wanted to continue the case to also have that regulation discontinued, but NYC filed a motion to have the case NOT heard by SCOTUS since the MTA regulation was not part of the original case. They (The City) also stated that the "wrist-flick" test that was previously being used by the NYPD was no longer to be used. What the new criteria would be appears to be that actual "gravity knives" such the old German Paratrooper knife and modern clones are the targets.

Since the "wrist-flick" test was at the core of the 'Gravity Knife" law, SCOTUS agreed with NYC, it declared the issue Moot, and will not hear the case.

For more clarification of the issue, go to this link;

Essentially, keep your one hand opening knife concealed, keep the blade under 4", and especially don't expose it on any MTA property and no arrest will take place.

The article link above gives more information and some more specific advice. I would have loved to see a SCOTUS decision, but I've been carrying my Spyderco again for the first time in years for the last 3 weeks, and I'm not complaining.
