Yeah, yeah, We all know that load the mag tube, pump the slide action to chamber a shot-shell, disengage the safety and pull the trigger....BOOM!
Work the slide again, eject the empty hull, chamber the next shot-shell, and start all over again.
But have you ever considered just what's going on inside the receiver while you're doing all that? Well if you haven't, and I'm pretty sure you haven't, you're about to find out in full color, high tech, animated, 3D definition.
So maybe the next time something goes wrong (hopefully at the range instead of in your home at Zero Dark Thirty) you'll actually understand what's happening (as you transition to your handgun).
After Marlin was purchased by Remington and the Freedom Arms Corporation over a decade ago, it began a long, slow, steady decline in quality control that almost resulted in Marlin going out of business. Fortunately, Sturm-Rugerwas able to purchase not just the Marlin name and all its designs, but all of the physical equipment, machinery, raw materials and already manufactured parts as part and parcel of the deal.

A brief note here before we start. People talk about the "Two F's" Fight or Flight. The reality is that there are, in reality, "3 F's". Fight, Flight, or Freeze".
Having gotten that out of the way, let's move on to Mr. Hatmakers take on the Subject which may come off as somewhat controversial to some of you.

A man originally described as a "Person Of Interest" has now been designated a suspect. Frank R. James is now being sought as the shooter in the Brooklyn Subway Attack.

At least 5 to 7 people shot by a man wearing an Orange safety vest and what was described as a gas mask during the morning commute to work from Brooklyn at the 36th Street subway station in Sunset Park. Obviously a planned attack as he first threw a Smoke Grenade before opening fire. This is a busy station that I used to use when I was younger. I've probably stood on that station, literally, thousands of times over a period of several decades.
Additionally, several undetonated explosive devices were found by the FDNY (fire Department).

A friend of mine has apparently been extolling the Virtues of Mossberg shotguns. In Particular their lower priced Maverick line. When he told me I thought that I had already put up a Blog post about a Maverick review. However when I checked the Blog, no POST!!
Accordingly, I promised to put the review up in today's Sunday With Blackthorn. So, without further ado, I give you James from the TFB Youtube channel and his surprising review of the Mossberg Maverick 88.
A while back I did a couple of Blog Posts on the Mossberg Shockwave Shotgun. Pros and Cons were discussed in reviews from a couple of different sources. One of those reviews was a Youtube video from Lucky Gunner Ammo. Now while Lucky Gunner was less than flattering, they didn't completely dismiss the Shockwave.
However, it's now months later and they decided to give the Shockwave another chance. The newest review is far less critical than the original. It goes to show that with a couple of simple add-ons and some practice adjustments, the Shockwave just might have more practical applications than people may have originally thought.
Thanks to Tom from the Forum for finding the Video and bringing it to my attention.
